The “V” in HVAC stands for ventilation—one of the most important systems in your home. With the right ventilation and ductwork design, heated and cooled air will be distributed evenly throughout your living spaces, and air pollutants will be filtered out, keeping your home healthy and comfortable.

Ductwork

Ductwork carries air to and from your heating and cooling equipment, and into and out of your home.

To allow for adequate ventilation, your air duct ventilation system needs to be properly designed. Common ductwork design issues like long runs, sharp bends, and excessive turns can restrict airflow and prevent proper ventilation and distribution.

Fans

Fans are connected to your central ductwork and used to actively pull fresh air in from the outside and vent contaminated air out. You may have local fans in your bathroom and kitchen or a central fan installed in your attic or basement and connected to other rooms in your home by ductwork.

Supply Vent

Supply vents blow filtered and conditioned air into your living spaces.

Return Vent

HVAC return ducts suck air out of your living spaces so that it can be carried back to your furnace, heat pump, or AC to be heated or cooled, or vented out of your home.

Air Filter

Supply vents are typically equipped with an air filter, which removes dust, dirt, pollen, mold spores, and other contaminants from your indoor air before they’re released into your living spaces.
