Dixon Ductless Mini-Split Installation
A mini-split AC has an outdoor condenser unit and multiple indoor air handlers. Each service area or zone gets its own air handler and thermostat. Residents can control these units independently of the others, to create the local conditions they want.
With ductless mini-split installation, you’ll enjoy zoned temperature control and impressive energy savings. Unlike central ACs, which cool homes uniformly, ductless ACs offer customized cooling. This eliminates the need to cool unoccupied spaces. It also prevents heated arguments over thermostat settings.
Ductless mini-split installation can provide many impressive benefits:
- Whisper-quiet performance
- No duct-related energy losses
- Healthy indoor air quality
- Increased property values
Given that there’s no ductwork in a mini-split system, conditioned air doesn’t travel through long, dusty shafts. It doesn’t pick up dirt, dander, or other allergens and contaminants, and it doesn’t gain any heat before distribution. These cooling systems distribute cooled air right where they produce it. This contributes to their ultra-quiet performance.
If you’re currently using inefficient window ACs or ceiling fans to cool your Dixon home, a mini-split AC will enhance your property. Not only will it add value to your investment, but it will also significantly enhance its marketability.
While most mini-split ductless air conditioners cost more than central ACs, they can be cheaper to install in homes that don’t have ducting. Installing a mini-split often costs less than a central AC installation that has to be paired with costly ductwork retrofitting.
During a ductless mini-split installation, our HVAC technicians mount condensers in back or side yards. For stability and safety, they mount them atop concrete or composite slabs. Technicians divide building interiors into separate cooling zones, and they mount air handlers and thermostats in each. To connect air handlers to condensers, they drill small holes in the exterior wall of each service area. These holes measure three inches in diameter or less. They’re just large enough to pass through electrical wiring and refrigerant tubing.
Even if you already have a central AC, a mini-split can optimize your home’s cooling plan. You can use a mini-split to cool your garden room, attic bedroom, finished basement, or garage.
