Fairfield, California- June 3rd, 2016- It’s that time of year again, when exceedingly high temperatures can lead to exceedingly low patience. During these hot summer months, many home owners begin to look for ways to keep cool without spending a fortune. PG&E is doing their part to help, by partnering with HVAC companies like Greiner Heating, Air and Solar in the Energy Upgrade California (EUC) Program.
To help PG&E determine what savings are possible with specific home improvements, three California HVAC companies were chosen by PG&E to complete home energy upgrade projects on select pilot project homes. As the top Energy Upgrade contractor in the Solano and Yolo county area, having already completed 579 Energy Upgrade California projects, Greiner was an easy selection for PG&E to make.
Greiner’s Home Performance team began this particular energy upgrade on April 25th at a home in Fairfield. The aim of this retrofit was to lower heating and cooling bills, increase occupants’ comfort, improve indoor air quality, and enhance building durability. In order to achieve these goals, the team replaced the old air conditioning system with a heat pump, installed new airtight duct work, air sealed the house, installed a balanced ventilation system, and installed new attic insulation. These home upgrades were completed on May 17th and the required performance metrics collected have completely surpassed the expectationsof the homeowners and PG&E.
The Home Performance division of Greiner Heating, Air and Solar Energy is dedicated to properly assessing the energy efficiency, structural durability, indoor-air quality, and comfort levels of your home. Greiner’s first pilot project in Fairfield with a PG&E appointed mentor was an incredible success.
Through this research and execution of energy upgrades, they hope to help customers save even more money, assist customers in living both comfortably and happily, and do their part in protecting the environment. As a locally owned and operated company, Greiner enthusiastically provides great comfort and energy-saving services to their customers and to the community as a whole.
